Recommended Books

This is a list of books that I have found useful in my training as a Project Manager:

  • The Goal by Dr. Eliyahu M. Goldratt.  It describes the Theory of Constraints model for systems management.  It is focused on operations management and not project management. It is written as a novel and it is easy to read.
  • Critical Chain by Dr. Eliyahu M. Goldratt.  It describes the Theory of Constraints used for project management.  It is also written as a novel and very easy to read.
  • Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity by David Allen.  Description of the famous Time Management method GTD.  Very interesting reading, although you end up with the feeling that the book is “just” common sense.  While reading the book I had the felt like I already knew deep inside me what the author describes, but I never wanted to believe it.
